Over the course of history of theater and literature, we have had the good fortunate of reading the work of some famous authors and playwrights. Work by people such as Tennessee Williams, George Bernard Shaw and Samuel Beckett have thrilled the world with their work. However, one of the most famous writers of all time was the 16th Century English poet and playwright named William Shakespeare.
Shakespeare was born on April 26, 1564 in Stratford-Upon-Avon in England. William Shakespeare is regarded as one of the greatest playwrights and poets of all time. Some of his best known works include “Romeo and Juliet”, “Taming of the Shrew”, “A Midsummer Nights Dream” and “As You Like It”.
William Shakespeare has been known as one of the finest playwrights who has also been one of the most innovative writers of all time. His use of various comedic and tragic styles, costumes and theater presentation set the standard for writers that have followed. Plus, Shakespeare built the Globe Theatre in 1599 as a place to present his plays. This theatre was groundbreaking and became the model for the theatres of the future.
